Yankee Cruiser Sophomores Claim Top Billing in Ohio-

The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association held it’s year end banquet and awards ceremony on Sat. January 17^th at Columbus Marriot Northwest.  Yankee Cruiser sired Cruzin Inya Jammys and Beeeyouuuuuu took sophomore pacing honors. 

 Yankee Cruiser’s richest foal to date, Cruzin Inya Jammys ($201,137), was announced 2008 Three Year Old Filly Pacer of the Year after taking a 1:52s mark this past season with earnings of $139,140 in 2008 winning 6 starts including the $80,000 Cinderella at Maywood, 2 OSS legs (at Northfield and Raceway Park), a late closer at The Red Mile and taking second in the $80,000 OSS Three Year Old Championship at Scioto Downs and Ohio Breeders Crown at Delaware.  Cruzin Inya Jammys is trained by Dan Ater, owned by breeder Mark Wooten and driven by Kyle Ater, Luc Oulette and David Miller. 

 Yankee Cruiser’s fastest progeny, Beeeyouuuuuu p,3,1:50.1f $113,947, earned 2008 Three Year Old Colt Pacer of the Year in Ohio after banking $84,939 his sophomore season winning 4 of 8 including a $20,000 OSS leg at Scioto Downs.  Beeeyouuuuuu also took a third place finish in the $500,000 Hoosier Cup after three straight wins at Hoosier Park in the spring of ’08 including an Open Pace.  The sophomore pacer was conditioned by Billy Walters for owner/breeder Dale Walters and was driven primarily by Brad Hanners.  Congratulations!

 Yankee Cruiser’s first two Ohio eligible crops of racing age have earned $2,721,113 to date with 6 $100,000 winners and 20 1:55 performers (70 in 2:00).  His first PA eligible crop hits the ground in 2009!   Hanover Shoe Farms will breed 29 of its mares to Yankee Cruiser this season and offers his service for a $6,000 fee.
