 Hanover Sired/Bred Racing Highlights 3-1-10 thru 3-7-10

 At Woodbine- Cam Fella Pacing Series (Leg 1)-

Sixdaysontheroad takes fastest division-

Sixdaysontheroad (Allamerican Native-Resume Speed) 4YOHP p,1:52.1 $33,950 Paul MacDonell sat the mile wire to wire style with the Gord Remmen trainee from post 6. Setting off the opening timer in 27.2 first up, the pacer pulled away by 2 to the ½ in 56.3 and sat a comfortable 1:24.2 ¾, then launched to a 7-1/4 length victory with a 27.4 last panel fraction.  A winner of 8 for 9 in 2009, Sixdaysontheroad sports 5 wins in 7 starts this season with $70,487 banked already this season and a 1:50.4s record taken at Woodbine on 1-23-10.  Western Ideal sired Gotcha Covered was 3rd.

In the other division of the Cam Fella- Cam’s Card Shark sired Card Hustler was 2nd and The Panderosa sired Magicmaker Hanover (Mystical Art) was 3rd.

Also at Woodbine-

Hanover Bred January Horse of the Month- Kandor Hanover (Tagliabue-Katelyns Glory) was once more a winner taking the $22,310 F-nw23000L in 1:55.3 after a three wide move past the ¾, 5th and closing with a 29.1 LQ to win by a neck.  It was her second straight win in as many weeks at Woodbine with $66,413 on the board this season ($143,210 lifetime).  In January, Kandor won the $58,200 Lifetime Dream Final after taking 2 seconds in the trotting series legs. Jack Moiseyev wears the driver’s cap for trainer/co-owner John Burns and owners Online Stable and J Patrick Huber.

General Brock division winner-

Hanover Bred Tad The Stud (Windsong’s Legacy-Chocolate Layered) 4YOHT t,1:56.4 $19,400 Driven by Scott Zeron, Tad took his first win in the series.  Previously 3rd in his Leg 1 division the Herbert Holland trained trotter has banked $21,590 thus far in ’10 with $112,574 on his lifetime card and a career mark of t,3,1:55.1m for owner Stephen Chartrand. 

Dam, Chocolate Layered, is being bred to Crazed in 2010.

At The Meadowlands- Horse & Groom Series (Leg 1 divisions)-

Looking Hanover (Muscles Yankee-Lady Bar) 5YOGT t,1:54.4 $20,000 Co-owner Yannick Gingras guided the Edwin Gannon Jr. pupil to a length and ¼ victory after a first up trip from 5th at the ½. A 28.2 was good enough to secure the win for owners Dawn Gannon and Gingras.  It was Looking’s first of ’10 with 3 second place finishes prior to the win in 2 Invitationals at The Big M and a Open HC at Dover.  With $227,441 on his career card, Looking has $33,750 earned thus far in 2010 and a 1:54.1f record taken last season at Chester.

His dam, Lady Bar, is in foal to Majestic Son due in May and is booked to Explosive Matter for 2010.  She sells a Donato Hanover yearling colt, Littlejack Hanover, this fall.

Impel Hanover (Andover Hall-Imposing Hanover) 5YOHT t,1:54.4 $20,000 George Brennan bridled in the win for trainer James Atkinson in the third division of the opening leg taking all timers and rounding out a career best for the trotter in 1:54.4 with a 27.4 final fraction finishing ¾ lengths in the lead.  It was the second straight win for Impel in 2010.  He has won $119,764 lifetime with 3 wins and $37,330 this season for owners James and Carol Atkinson.

Impel’s dam, Imposing Hanover, is in foal to Broadway Hall due in April and she will be bred back to Yankee Glide this season. She has a Donato Hanover yearling filly, Impeding Hanover, to sell this fall.

Also at The Big M-

Likeabatoutahell (SJ’s Caviar-Miss Molly Tamale) 7YOGT t,1:54.3 $32,000 Invitational Trot Brian Sears sought the lead in the stretch after sitting third to the 1/2 and challenging for the wire first up by the 3/4.  The Trond Smedshammer trainee trotted home strongly with a 27.4 last quarter clocking to take the wire 1-1/4 lengths over Salutation Hanover (Andover Hall-Swift Kathy).  It was the Bat’s 3rd Invitational victory this year with $53,120 earned and $566,358 amassed lifetime!  The talented trotter boasts a 1:52 record taken in ’09 at The Big M and 24 career wins.

His sire SJ’s Caviar continues to produce quality trotting horses that are competitive in Pennsylvania and beyond!  In 2009 his daughter Caviarforthelady t,3,1:55.2f $347,906 took the 3YOFT PASS Championship, son Triumphant Caviar t,3,1:52.4h $484,614 set a world record on the half at Delaware in the Old Oaken Bucket, and Preferred Trotter Hidden Viggorish t,3,1:53.1f $537,029 broke the aged mare track record at The Meadows (1:53.2f). Hennessy Hanover (Dragon Again-Hermosa Hanover) 6YOGP p,1:52.1 $22,500 nw22500L5 Yannick Gingras held the lines for conditioner Kevin McDermott and owner Francis Azur in the pacer’s 3rd win of 2010 by 4 lengths and 18th lifetime.  Hennessy has earned $52,100 already this season, and had his richest season ever in 2009 earning $113,260 (with $350,207 lifetime).  He sports a career mark of 1:49.2f taken at 4 when he banked $105,830 for the year.

At The Meadows- Sand Benelli (The Panderosa-Panterafansinlove) 4YOGP p,1:51.3 $25,000 Preferred Handicap Tony Hall heralded in the win for trainer Tye Loy and owners Bill Sanders, Jon Mantooth, Whitney Mantooth and Joseph Evans.  A winner of 3 for 4 and $35,000 in 2010, Sand Benelli cleared a length victory over Western Ideal sired Western Bay at the wire with a 27.1 LQ.  The pacer sports $172,990 on his career card.

At Yonkers- Hopeful Series 3YO Filly Pacers-

Dragon Princess (Dragon Again-Jewel Princess) 3YOFP p,1:57 $10,000 Cat Manzi sat the mile for Darran Cassar and owner Barry Charles. Two lengths in the lead at the finish, Dragon Princess scored her second trip to the winner’s circle in 2010.

Angelino (Western Hanover-Artful Angel) 3YOFP p,1:58.4 $10,000 Jordan Stratton guided a garden spot trip to take the win at the wire by a neck for co-owner and trainer Dylan Davis and Warren Racing Stable.  Angelino has two wins to her credit in 2010 and finished 2nd in the Hopeful leg 1 division last week.
